Mom derived joy from gardening and particularly baking and cooking for her loved ones. Her fortitude and dedication to support our family and home kept us together despite hardships and strife. Mary Jo had retired in 1986 from the Small Business Administration with the Federal Government as an Administrative Officer and previously as an Executive Secretary for a previous brokerage firm. Mary Cathedral School in Covington then St. Jo was a proud graduate from the Class of 1945 Saint Henry High School in Erlanger, KY. She got there in time to see emergency medical people cut the doors off. His mom got the call even before the police arrived. My Mom and I had also previously attended Mother of God Church in Covington, KY. Schwartz’s car wound up in the yard of one of his mom’s co-workers. Jo was a strong Christian having lived her Roman Catholic faith spiritually supported so lovingly by very special Jesuit Fathers from St. Our Mother ‘s dynamic strength and spunk shown through, overcoming many obstacles, surviving and thriving under many challenges and crosses she had carried so courageously throughout her inspirational life. This classy, darling lady was our beloved Mother known to our special family as “Jomama”.
